If I Have To Call One More Repairman, I Will Scream
It wouldn't be so bad if I was calling repairmen for different broken things (or maybe it would be, now that I think about it), but I have to keep calling for the same stupid air conditioner. It has never really been fixed since the first time I called. The repairman has just left for the third time in a month. Ugh. He said it's probably fixed this time, but if it's not, there is one more thing he can do. I wanted to tell him to go ahead and do it now! Anyway, pray for my struggling air conditioner --and my patience with it! We can be glad that the 100 degree weather seems to be over--finally, and we don't have to melt into a puddle right in the middle of our very own living room.
In other news, I am so disgusted over a biology lab experiment gone wrong. K had to bring home some experiment where she was testing the ph level of nail polish remover. She put the container on her dresser. When she picked it up to put in her back pack this morning--the solution had eaten through the container, and it had leaked out all over her dresser. Completely took the finish off of her oak dresser. It's not noticeable when you look down on it, but from the side it is. You can also feel it with your hand. We bought this dresser the year K was born--it was our master bedroom furniture for years--and it was in perfect condition--until now. I am trying to remember that it's just stuff--it's a little hard though. Anyway, B seems to think we can fix it. I don't have a clue how, and I'm hoping B does.
I am facing a very busy afternoon and evening--filled with cooking, Bible quiz, basketball practice, and a PTO meeting--not to mention helping the twins study for a huge history test. It's all good though. I am adjusting to this new world of mine!
I almost forgot to tell you to go visit my food blog--Jenna's Fare. I've posted a couple of great dessert recipes lately--and who can't use a good dessert? Later.

I love your recipes/blog!
It is good it's not 100 right now although I think we do have a while to go before we don't use air conditioners here in MS! I'm with you, if there's one more thing he could try, why not do that now, I've had them tell me the same thing.
Sorry about your dresser, I would hate that too. But one day you might look fondly at it and it will bring back sweet memories of this time in your life. Hard to imagine that now though I know!
I am so sorry for your difficulties today! I hope your air is finally fixed, and I do hope you can fix the dresser. I know they are both just things, but we do want our things to be working and in good condition!

WOW...the song that is running through my head is...Gloom..dispair..and agony on me!! (remember that from Hee Haw???)
Here's hoping for a better day!!
Hopefully your busy day will end in a nice cool house! That stinks about your dresser! Maybe it's easily fixed. Hope tomorrow is a better day for you! Enjoyed your blog!
Hey there... I did that to my mother's beautiful dining room table! I spilled finger nail polish remover all over it. Same thing, it melted the finish and you could feel it. Dad stripped the top, and re-varnished it. That was 20 years ago and you cannot tell it ever happened... good luck.
I printed out the Mexican Soup and Choco Bundt cake and can't wait to try them. Wishing so much for soup and chili weather to get here soon!!!
So sorry about the dresser. I hope your a/c gets resurrected! : )
Bummer about the air conditioner. I do hope this visit from the repairman will be the last.
And the dresser, too. Hey, if you have to call the air conditioner guy back, see if he has any suggestions for the dresser! :)
Oh that's a bummer about the air. I hate having to deal with repair men. Especially the we'll be there between 10-2 and they show up at 4 after you've been waiting around all day. Hope it's fixed now!!
I can't believe that the teacher didn't send home a warning about the PH level. That would have been quite the shock!!
Have a wonderful evening :)
I can't believe it happened again! I'm so sorry! I know that is frustrating for you!
I'm sorry. I know you looked a little bummed last night, but I chalked it up to homework-I was partly right.
I know that dresser is sentimental to you, but you're right--it's just stuff. Stuff that can be replaced. It really can. I hope that K's experiment can be recreated or she has time to do something else.
Repairmen are something that can really get on your last nerve... so here is how I deal with them when they have come to fix the same thing one too many times. CRY!! CRY!!! CRY!!! It works for me a lot... they think if I come to this house again I am going to have to listen to this lady cry so I better go ahead and do all I can to fix the problem now. Try it sometime and let me know if it works. :) Good luck with the AC!
Oh no! That's awful about the dresser. You're right, it's just *stuff*, but when *stuff* has sentimental value attached to it, it becomes more than just *stuff*.
I sure hope they fix your AC. What a pain!!
You poor thing! That AC unit is really giving you a run for your money! Hope it's fixed this time!
Don't worry about the dresser. It can always be sanded down and you'll never notice the spot!
Oh, that would be frustrating about the dresser...I always have to remind myself over and over that it is just temporal "stuff", too...
You sound as busy- if not even busier- than I've been lately!
Hope you're enjoying the weekend and that your AC continues to hold up!
Oh can I relate ... about the catastrophe. My college daughter, the day before she left for school a few weeks ago, spilled nail polish remover on our leather sofa. Had we purchased a protection plan? You bet! Was this damaged covered? No way! I empathize. Yes, it is just "stuff."
What a pretty blog. I will have to go check out your recipes- Chocolate Bundt cake- yummy!
Jenna,
SO sorry about the fingernail polish remover...that would make me sick too! Hoping that your ac is better!
