I'm An Aunt...Again
Our sweet nephew, Will, was born December 18th, weighing in at 6lbs, 3oz. There was a serious problem though. He was born with Transposition of the Great Arteries of the Heart--which means that his major arteries were switched. He had heart surgery on the 28th to correct the problem, and all went well. He should be able to come home and join his sisters and brother in just a couple of weeks. It was scary at first--as anything involving the heart would be--especially since it was not detected before birth. We are so thankful that Will will have a long and healthy life, and we are thankful to God for the medical technology that saved his life. God is so Good.
Oh, I hope you have a very Happy New Year. The twins and I went to see a movie, and then to Chili's for supper. Now, we just plan to spend a quiet evening at home. A. and M. have got the second season of Andy Griffith out, and say they are going to watch the whole season tonight while eating popcorn and homemade chocolate chip brownies. We bought some sparkling grape juice for the midnight hour. I'm wondering if I can talk the twins into celebrating the new year with New York???

Praise the Lord that your nephew is doing well. Very scary indeed.
You left a comment on my blog back in August and I just discovered it....sorry! I am just getting back to my blogging after the death of my father. He passed away in October and things have been hectic with trying to help my mom tie up all the loose ends after the funeral and then the holidays were upon us.
Thanks so much for your encouraging words you left for me. It was a trying time and a blessed time as well, having those last couple of months to spend closely with him.
Congratulations on the nephew, so glad he is doing well! God is good indeed.
Have a wonderful New Year's Eve! We are home tonight too, I'm snuggling Izzy thinking about making some snack food for tomorrow. I was going to go out with my friend Melody, but decided that required too much energy lol...
Happy New Years!
2008 is gonna be GREAT!
Prayers for Will, for you, for your whole family. It sounds like you all had a miracle for the New Year.
Peace & Joy,
Julie
So glad little Will is here and is doing well!
Did you and the twins make it to midnight?
I'm wondering the same thing. Did you make it to midnight? I was awake at 11:50, and next thing I know it's 12:15. :) We had the sparkling juice, too, but I haven't had the first glass. Ha!
congrats on being an aunt again! I'll keep Will in my prayers for continued recovery from his surgery.
I'm on mountain time, so 2 hrs behind east coast time and I celebrated new year's at 10:00pm last night also with NY LOL
Happy New Year!
Congrats on the new nephew! Glad that all went well with his surgery, that is scary for one so little.
What movie did you see? We went to see National Treasure New Year's afternoon...gonna start regrouping today I hope.
Happy New Year Jenna!
Happy New Year! So glad to hear your little nephew did well. His condition sounds frightening but I am constantly amazed at medical technology!
I remember when my kids were too little to tell time, but old enough to "get" the New Years thing. There were times when we rang in the new year at all sorts of hours. It was all the same to them :). That's not happening anymore, but then again, I have as much fun staying up and ringing in the new year as they do. My sister insisted that we were NOT going back out to pop the last of our fireworks at midnight...we had gotten so cold doing them earlier. She was wrong....I dragged all of the kids back out to do the last of our artillary shells at midnight.
So glad that all is well with Will!
PTL!!!
