The Mighty Hunter
OK, I realize all has been extremely quiet on the Joyful Journey front, but, honestly, there's just been a lot of the same ole, same ole going on around here---until tonight. I had to break my little blogging sabbatical to post this:
A's First Deer (I know that's not the best expression.)

Daddy's a proud papa:

I had more pictures to post, but blogger suddenly decided to get stubborn on me. Anyway, they are out skinning it right now and getting ready to take it to the butcher. And let me just say I am a very proud momma, even though I'm not the hunting type of person. My son's smile went from ear to ear. My son also has a terrific daddy, who just happened to have a migraine all afternoon while they were out. (Thanks to everyone who has been checking on me--I'm fine, and I appreciate your concern! I'm feeling the love!)

Glad you are well and just staying busy. I'm going to have the same kind of week around here. Lots to do and I'll have only a small amount of time to blog. Isn't it wonderful to have a family and friends to keep us busy?!!

Happy for your son and his catch. The thought of skinning a deer makes me want to blow chunks. LOL!

Oh congratulations! My daughter wants to go hunting so badly with her dad. I am hoping they get to squeeze in a few trips somehow this year but he did not join a club this year so we will see!

What a great trip for them!

I'm glad you're back! I've been missing your posts. Glad you're ok!

I know your son is proud. Our 4 year old son caught his first fish last week and he too sported that ear to ear grin that makes a momma so happy!

So glad all is well. Life gets busy this time of year for all of us :)

Congrats on your son's first deer! Did they not smear blood on him? That's a ritual with my husband's family and for everyone who shoots their first deer. They get a little dab :) I think it's icky but he swears it's a time honored tradition.

Have a great week!

Oh congrats to your son, that's a big deal! And I was wondering too where the blood was on his face...in our neck of the woods, they all do that, smear blood on your face the first time you get one!
Been missing you being around but enjoy the time you're having with family and friends!
